Securing an East African Tourist and Business Visa

Africa Fixers offers visa advice to all film crews coming to Uganda, Rwanda, and Kenya. The East African visa allows a traveler to enter the countries mentioned above. This visa was an initiative among the three countries to ease travel entry for people intending to visit the country. This East Africa visa is applied for on a tourist basis which most crews do as they also apply for special passes and media accreditation in addition to it. This visa can be applied for online via the different online immigration departments of the countries. it can also be gotten through the respective embassies. This visa costs 100usd per person and it should be applied for before arrival to avoid any inconveniences when leaving your country.

Uganda Visa

The Ugandan Visa can be obtained from any of our embassies abroad or online. As a film crew, you will be required to have a visa to enter Uganda. Whether you need a tourist or business visa we will help you obtain it.

When applying,  you are required to fill out a form with all your details and the reason for your visit. if you apply for a business Visa,  please do ask for a letter from us to immigration informing them that you will be in Uganda for filming and that we will be your main address while in Uganda. A tourist visa also works well for film crews and you will need the following ;

  • Passport copy (bio-data page) with at least 6 months validity.
  • Letter of invitation.
  • The immigration status of the host.
  • Recent Passport-size Photograph.
  • Vaccination Certificate (Yellow Fever)
  • Hotel booking or reservation (if any other accommodation, provide an address)
  • Status of host in Uganda.

Rwanda Visa

The Rwanda Visa can obtained online and upon arrival. The visa takes about 3-5 working days once the application starts.  You need the following for your visa into the country to be approved.

  • passport copy that is valid for at least 6 months
  • Yellow fever vaccination as a must
  • Fully filled in visa form

Once you have provided the above details and paying USD50.00 then you will be offered a visa. It is as easy as above. In the event that you encounter any problem, our clearing Agent/representative who will be waiting for you at the Airport will sort it out.

Kenya Visa

Entry into Kenya now requires you to apply for travel authorization through the new ETA system. The cost of the ETA is now 30 USD per person and it has to be applied within a timeframe of at least 3 days before your arrival to avoid any inconveniences. click the following link to start applying

For your application to be approved , you will need the following:

  • Valid passport for at least six (6) months after your planned date of arrival into Kenya, with at least one blank page
  • Selfie or passport-type photo
  • Contact information, email address and phone number
  • Details of your arrival and departure itinerary
  • Accommodation booking confirmation(s)
  • Credit card, debit card or other means of payment

In addition to visas, you will be required to get filming permits, media accreditation and work permits to ensure that your filming goes smoothly.
